Bridal Bouquet Shapes
Round, long, short… There are plenty of options for you to choose from at the time of selecting your bridal bouquet.
It is said that this tradition started in the 1500 when taking showers was done once a year. So, in order to cover the bride in a pleasant odor for the wedding day they would carry a flower arrangement with them. There are others who believe that it was also used as a good luck charm in order to keep away evil spirits. Celebrating that nowadays, the reason to carry the bouquet has nothing to do with not taking showers, it is a tradition that should not be taken for granted. As it is the perfect way to express your personality and individuality.
The bouquet can come in different sizes and shapes. Below are some of the most popular ones.
Nosegay Bouquet – is a compact cluster of flowers, wrapped tight and cut to one uniform length.
Posy Bouquet – is similar in design to the Nosegay bouquet but smaller. It’s one of the most popular.
Pompander Bouquet – is a flower covered ball shape tied with a ribbon and hangs from your hand.
Hand-tied Bouquet – it’s ideal for an informal wedding as it is more of a natural look, simply a dense bunch of flowers loosely tied together.
Composite Bouquet – is made up with different petals or buds wired together on a single stem to create the impression of a giant flower.
Cascade Bouquet – is a waterfall-like of blooms either anchored in a holder or hand tied. It is the most traditional of all bridal bouquets. They go from simple to elaborate with a shower of flowers.
Pageant Bouquet – It is like the ones used in the beauty pageants with long stemmed flowers like branches. It is also known as the “presentation bouquet”.
Round Bouquet – similar to the nosegay but with a round shape.
As a common tradition after the wedding the bride will toss it over her shoulder, and it is believed that whoever catches the bouquet is the next in line to be married.
The Bouquet will say a lot about you. Which of the styles represents you better?
