Runners for walking the aisle in style
The moment the music sounds and the bride starts to walk down the aisle is probably one of the most emotional minutes of any ceremony. It doesn’t matter if it is at a Church, at the beach or at a garden, this is the first time your future husband and your guests will see you on your wedding day and it has to be perfect.
For most brides, the runner also represents a safe way of walking down the aisle without damaging her dress or getting it dirty. Traditionally, a white aisle runner symbolizes a “pathway of purity” or walking on “holy ground”. In Christian ceremonies the white runner symbolizes holy ground where two lives are joined as one by God. Nowadays, brides choose to have runners that will also be part of the décor and even a conversation piece on their wedding.
Runners come in different materials like plastic, paper, carpet or they can even be created with flowers. Maybe you think this is not something new, but let me just tell you, you’ll be surprised by the beautiful and wonderful ideas that people have done to create unique designs.
A simple paper runner may be transformed into a unique work of art by writing your special song, your vows, a phrase or even a poem. Petals can be scattered along the aisle, but they may also form your initials or be thrown in a special way that creates patterns or shapes. Even the traditional carpet can be substitute with an out of the box bold color that goes along with your wedding colors like red, turquoise, hot pink, or even in patterns. The important thing is to not get overwhelmed and try to invent the wheel. Just use your imagination and get creative with the simple elements that already exist.
