There are lots of important countdowns in our lives:  the 10 second New Years Eve countdown, the 9 months pregnancy countdown, the 25 days ’till Christmas countdown, and the list goes on. Now, there is an extremely important countdown for a bride-to-be, which has a specific order to follow so that the end result is a happy one: the one every bride deserves. To look like a beautiful queen the day of her wedding, is in most cases, one of the dreams a little girl has, and so, for this to become a reality, you must know the 12 month wedding dress countdown according to The knot!

12 months till wedding day

The first thing you must do is set a budget for that dream wedding dress. Remember 10 to 20 percent of that amount will be destined to accessories like shoes, veil and jewelry, so you should keep that in mind for the final total.

8 until wedding day

This nerve wrecking moment is when it’s time to buy the dress! Most of the time, the deposit consists of 60% of the total price of the gown, and usually, it is said that the piece will take anywhere from 16 to 20 weeks to arrive.

3 months until wedding day

It’s finally time for your first fitting. This is supposed to be the fitting when you do the mayor changes to your gown, whether it be adding sleeves or cutting them, modifying the length of the dress, etc.

6 to weeks until wedding day

This is the moment when you should be taking care of your second fitting and it should be one for minor modifications to the dress.

2 to 3 weeks until wedding day

It is recommended to go to your final fitting with a friend or family, because this day is promised to get tears up and down your face. This is the day when you’ll finally see the dress the exact same way it will look on your wedding day! Prepare to get emotional… Very  emotional!

1 day until wedding day

Time to get organized and put all your wedding garments in one place so you don’t forget anything on your magical day! Now, just take those 24 hours to enjoy and live to the fullest those last hours before your long awaited wedding.
